    Back in 1983, when Dwayne Klarenbeek started Midwestern Mechanical out of his converted chicken coop in Larchwood, Iowa, things were pretty simple. One location, one phone number, one team dedicated to doing quality work and treating people right.

    Fast forward 40+ years, and we’ve grown to four locations across South Dakota and Iowa. We’ve got over 330 employees, we’re 100% employee-owned, and we’ve built the state’s second-largest apprenticeship program. But here’s the thing—as we grew, our websites grew too. Four locations meant four separate websites, and frankly, that was making things more complicated than they needed to be.

You’ll start seeing our trucks getting a facelift too—same reliable maroon you’ve come to recognize, but with a cleaner, more modern design that shows we’re always looking ahead while staying true to our roots.
